The house sits in a terrible state of disrepair this being due to the owners not living in the house and no maintenance provided for some time.  The Martin County Historical and Genealogical Society has embarked on this restoration project as of June 2014.  The Society officially came into ownership as of November 7, 2014.  Fundraising and making plans for stabilization are now underway.  The Himler House Committee has set a goal of $50,000 for immediate stabilization.  Once the house is stabilized, restoration phase will then be started.    We are asking for $100 from individuals to become a Friend of Himler House.
